Revolved was born in a moment of silence on the front lines of the Russia–Ukraine war.
Mike and Chris spent the night wide awake, staring at the stars and drones overhead, writing goodbye letters to their families in case they didn’t survive the next day. In that quiet, Chris turned to Mike and said:
“Why don’t we do this for the rest of our lives?”
That conversation became the seed of Revolved. Not about one conflict or one country, but about a way of being: showing up when others walk away, building bridges between disconnected worlds, and guiding people into stories and places often left unseen.
Revolved exists to amplify extraordinary people in overlooked places. Our name reflects a choice to revolve around something greater than ourselves. Instead of pulling others into our spotlight, we orbit around those already carrying the light.
It’s not about centering what we want or think is best, but centering them. Because when you go and stay long enough, you begin to see they already know the way.
This is our quiet refusal of the spin, ego, and noise that dominate the nonprofit world. For us, Revolved is about what’s essential: presence, humility, and shared action. We don’t serve to be seen; we serve so others can be.
We believe comfort has narrowed our vision and convenience has dulled our empathy. But something sacred happens when you step off the beaten path: the noise fades, time slows, and what’s real comes into focus.
Revolved is an invitation not just to give, but to see. We don’t share stories to inspire pity, we share them to spark perspective. We go not just to help, but to learn from the resilience, joy, and complexity of others. We go to disrupt, to reframe, and to wake something up inside of you.
When you let those stories reach you, they change more than how you think—they change how you live.
We believe in depth over breadth. That’s why our work is intimate, co-created, and radically transparent. We show up quietly, intentionally, and with reverence for the people we meet and the places we work. We protect stories. We measure depth, not just reach. And we move toward the forgotten and the unfinished.
We don’t build for communities; we build with them. Side by side. Decision by decision. Story by story. We believe that real change isn’t delivered, it’s co-created. We listen before we act. We strengthen locally-led change through strategy, funding, and storytelling. This isn’t charity. It’s partnership through presence.
Revolved began at the edges of conflict, sparked by a raw conversation on the front lines and carried forward by four people from vastly different worlds—three from America and one from Zimbabwe. Different passports, different paths, yet bound by the same relentless conviction that showing up changes everything. And together, we recognized something deeper: the nonprofit space needed a shake-up. It could be braver, more creative, and ultimately, better.
